As I Lay Dying "As I Lay Dying (Black vinyl)" 12"
AS I LAY DYING redefine their identity with their self-titled metalcore powerhouse As I Lay Dying!
On February 5, 2027, Grammy-nominated metalcore pioneers AS I LAY DYING return with their new self-titled album As I Lay Dying via Napalm Records. For 25 years, the band has shaped the global metalcore scene and secured its place in the genre’s history with eight acclaimed studio albums, uncompromising heaviness and unmistakable melodic songwriting. Rather than marking a reset, the new album is a defining snapshot of the entire AS I LAY DYING identity, shaped by the most collaborative songwriting process the band has experienced to date. Since forming around the turn of the millennium, AS I LAY DYING have played a defining role in shaping modern metalcore, selling more than one million albums worldwide, scoring two Top 10 Billboard 200 debuts and influencing generations of bands with their combination of crushing heaviness, melodic songwriting and technical precision.
As I Lay Dying combines the band’s signature heaviness with new melodic and modern elements, pushing both their heaviest and most accessible sides further than ever before. Lyrically, As I Lay Dying explores transformation, letting go and personal growth. “Retribution” is the darkest and heaviest AS I LAY DYING song to date, while “Polarized” pushes toward a more accessible, modern song structure. “If I Fall” combines raw intensity with vulnerability, confronting abandonment, judgment and the strength to rise again. “Echoes” delivers a dark, emotionally charged atmosphere centered around breaking free from destructive bonds and finding the courage to start over. The album was produced by Chris Clancy and Tim Lambesis, with “No Way Out” produced by Dusten Boles, connecting the band’s past and future while expanding their sound.
AS I LAY DYING – Tim Lambesis (Vocals, Additional Guitars), Chris Clancy (Bass, Main Chorus Vocals), Don Vedda (Guitar, Vocal Harmonies), Bill Hudson (Guitar) and Tim Yeung (Drums) – deliver an album that captures their full musical range. Guest vocalist CJ McCreery of Immortal Disfigurement appears on “No Way Out”. The artwork once again comes from Corey Meyers, who has shaped the band’s visual identity since “My Own Grave”.
With As I Lay Dying, the metalcore pioneers deliver not a look back, but a confident statement of where they stand today: heavier, more melodic, more versatile and more collaborative than ever – yet unmistakably AS I LAY DYING.
